Fluting Button

Anyone have had issue with fluting a button, as in heavy weight reduction type fluting?

You’re rolling the dice if it’s a barrel that’s already chambered and is a confirmed shooter.

If it’s not then I’d flute it and hope it works, like any other barrel.

Not chambered or even cut down yet. Never thought twice with cut, but flutter recommended against on button

Plenty of fluted button rifle barrels out there. If it’s needed I’d go for it. Worse case it dosnt shoot and you screw a new one on.
