Anyone have tips/tricks for capturing pics of flushing birds?

I'm mainly concerned with getting the shooter and birds in focus, so I know I want to run a small aperture with a wide-ish lens. What are your lens choices, settings, etc. I currently have a Sony a6400, 16mm prime, 18-135, and 70-350.

Some sample shots would be great!

I think your on the right track, small as aperture as possible i think its f22 on my a6000, should be similar on your a6400, iso is going to depend on the light you have, your going to want a fast shutter speed to have a crisp picture of the bird in flight, somewhere in the 600 to 800 range should work, I think I'd go with the 18 to 135 of those choices

I'll do some more work at smaller apertures. I don't typically run smaller than 11, so it'll be a trial and error situation.

Season is over in a few days, so I shouldn't have procrastinated!
