Would like to do a out of state float hunt this year , i live in Pa. Looking for something different to look forward to. I would like it to be about a 5 to 7 day trip. I have all the equipment to camp and the rafts and boats to float about any water. I think a gun hunt would be best because of moving often. Any rivers ,creeks or lakes that sound like it would work I could start researching. I appreciate all thoughts on this , you can pm if you like.

If you were to ask me I could name plenty of float here in pa.

Not sure where you would be interested in going to or if you're looking for a guided type hunt, but I'm a southeast hunter and my primary hunting grounds are FL, GA, AL, and SC with FL as my home state. There are MANY rivers in these states to boat-hunt and is something I truly enjoy. If you get on the O'le Google Search to a state/place you would be interested in hunting and locate the public hunting areas; WMA's, Conservation Lands, Army Corp., DNR Properties, then look over maps of these areas and see what it is about. There are many in which you can slide up on the bank to camp, they will also have designated spots along the rivers/reservoirs that you are allowed to boat-camp. Then what I have to do more times than not is find a nearby campground riverside and make daily trips to hunting areas. If you're thinking like an Alaskan type float trip to where you get dropped off and then picked up several days later downstream, you'll have to look out at the western states I'm pretty sure. . .I just do not have public lands in my part of the country that are so vast to be able to do so. Plus people are flocking/filling up the southeast in record numbers which is affecting our hunting privileges so to say. I have a 16ft. Gheenoe LT25 with a 25hp. Yamaha that is about perfect to hunt out of and can handle a load if needed. I can slide it into many narrow waterways and need only about 6" of water to float/pole around in. These are some of my "Boat Bucks". . .hogs, turkeys and ducks are also a some good times out on the water. Hope some of this info was helpful to you and good luck on your adventure.
