Flir scion otm vs. scout III 640

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with either of these thermal imaging devices? Looking for one that has the 1000yd + range for detection and see that Flir had the Scout III out for a while and has now come out with the OTM series(366/435)
Is one much better than the other? Is the long range detection good or somewhat iffy?

Not yet... trying to hear/read about some real life usage and which ones are as advertised.. Hate spending $$$$ without seeing field results.

Same boat here. My interest is not hunting, rather being able to determine whether human or wildlife is spooking the livestock. My coral is 300 yards away from the back porch, with some mesquite and brush in between.

i ran the Scout and now and the Scout 11 since last year.
For scanning and locating they work pretty well.
