Hey you gurus,

I have been having issues with string length. First thing, the florescent orange and white are different diameters and this messes up the overall length. Then the exact position of the loop and tag end messes with it too. How do you do yours for accuracy? At this point I don't really care about longbow strings, just mainly recurves.

Here's the jig my dad and I made. I haven't figured out a way to do odd lengths yet.

I've only made B50 strings and have found that practice makes perfect. I probably made 10-12 strings before I got one that was actually usable. As for odd lengths, just make the string the next size longer and twist it up to the length you need, at least that's what I do.

I measure mine out on my Flemish string jig, twist my top loop then use my little Jon string jig to set my length. Twist the bottom loop, put it back in my jig and twist/stretch it. Works like a charm.
