I want to get a couple flashlights to have in the house, in my truck, camping box, and for my kids that aren't going to cost me a few hundred to get a few of them. I don't know if anyone has a preference on these or if I'm just as good off going on amazon or to Academy and buying some that look ok.

Obviously I'm not looking for top of the line but would like to get something that breaks after a few days lol.

The Costco Duracell flashlights that come in a 3 or 4 pack are what I use for exactly this purpose and so far so good

If you have lithiums and a charger, Convoy.

Seems like the lone Chinese brand that has resisted the trend to add complexity at the cost of reliability/durability.

Sofirn, very bright, not a lot of money. I buy them direct and deal with longer shipping, you can choose the US warehouse and decrease shipping time for a little higher price or get off amazon for a bit more money. $25-35 will get you a light going for $100 or more from other brands.

Streamlight stylus pro, pro usb or pro mini for carrying around. 90 lumen low and 350 lumen high for the pro usb and you can buy extra batteries for cheap. The stylus pro takes AAA batteries. If you want a big flashlight to keep around the Streamlight stinger is a good one.

I love my Streamlight Megastream. About the size of a vape (which I don't do so I have plenty of room in my pocket for it) and packs an insanely powerful beam into that package, with pretty good life on the lower settings. USB C rechargeable which is great. I did have one die on me out of nowhere, not sure the exact issue but Streamlight covered it no questions asked, haven't had issues since. The Macrostream is similarly great but a bit smaller. If living in the city I recommend the Macro. More open, rural areas I'd say the Mega.

One word of caution, the button is easy to accidentally hit in your pocket. I had my Megastream burn a hole through the pocket and leg of a pair of nylon pants before I noticed it was on.
