So I picked up a pair of Obsidians about a month ago. I liked the merino material of the kanab 2.0 but the fit just wasn't quite there for me, so the new change up was really appealing. The material is AWESOME, just like the Kanabs but I believe there's more nylon in them. The fit is also better for a women's body vs the kanabs in my opinion. I love my women's guide pant, but the merino pants are quieter and cooler for warmer weather.

I chose the obsidians for my deer hunt because, 1. The weather forecast - warm (40-75 degrees) 2. Very quiet 3. Low odor - especially for long hunts. When I took my boots off to move in for a stalk, I really couldn't believe how quiet the pants actually were. Being able to roll the bottoms and button them up was super nice on a stalk to keep the pants out of the way as well. I also found out that they dry quickly even when not in a good drying situation. After I shot my buck it turned into a sideways downpour and I didn't bring my rain pants. By the time I got him packed out I had spent about 3 hours in the rain and my pants were completely soaked. When I got to my truck I had the heater on for about 15 minutes while I went back to camp.. I took them off and left them in the vehicle while I slept. When I got up about 4 hours later they were completely dry. It really impressed me given how soaked they were and how they weren't next to a heat source to dry out.

I highly recommend these to anyone doing any spot and stalk type hunting. And girls, I wouldn't shy away from the fit!

Thanks for the review. What are the main differences in fit compared to the Kanab 2.0s? Are they basically the same length, but more roomy in the hips?

Definitely more roomy in the hips, and sizing seems to be more true. I was teetering between a medium and large with the kanabs, but the mediums fit perfect in the obsidians just like the size chart shows. I don't have my kanabs anymore to compare length, but I got a tall and I didn't notice any difference.

Thanks for this Jordan, always nice hearing another girl's perspective. More and more comp it's coming out with women's specific stuff, but nice knowing that some of the me s stuff will work for us too!

I think you are taller than I am at 5'3 (you must be, you say you ordered the tall!)...

That's one thing I'm not sure of Becca is how they'd fit the slightly shorter girls. I'm 5' 10" with like a 33" inseam! I probably could have gotten by with a regular length actually, but I'm not a fan of looking like I'm going to wade a river all of the time, so I played it safe! Honestly I haven't had quite the trouble with men's pants as others have, just because of my height I think. Hoping they'll come out with a women's version of the merino pants soon!
