FL Corrugate Guide vs Catalyst?

Does anyone have experience with both? I am looking for an outer layer minus my rainshell to get me until late season when I likely will be hunting close to home or truck camping and having to carry a heavier jacket won't be a big deal.

Looking at the FL website the catalyst is 19oz vs the corr guide jacket at 18 oz. How much warmer is the catalyst? I would hope pretty warm for almost 250. How warm is the corr guide or is it more of a protective shell/midlayer?

My current layers for early to mid season are a aerowool long sleeve, a 230wt merino hoody and the uncompadphre vest plus a rain jacket.

Is the catalyst packable?

Thanks in advance

I Have both but barely got them, so my experiences are limited.
But I used them both in Utah, and Akaska

The Cat, is by far warmer, and will meet the needs you mentioned

The guide is an outer designed for protection and concealment, not warmth or weather
It will aid a bit in cool or mild rain
But isn't a weather jacket

The Cat, has the insulating factor but is a bit more restricting

These are actually 2 different need applications imo

I use the guide for warmer dry weather with lots of walking

The Cat for cooler wet days with mild walking

The Cat is more packable than the old Soft Shell, it is to replace, but it still isn't "puffy" packable.
I do not see it replacing my Sawtooth. I thought I would, but time will tell.

Thank you, appreciate the feedback.

That Is kind of how I was thinking the pieces were I was just a little thrown off at the 1oz weight difference between them. I wasn't sure if the corr was warmer than I thought or if the catalyst maybe wasn't as warm as I thought It would be. If the corr was a little warmer, maybe had a grid fleece backing would probably be perfect for me.

Honestly I could find use for both of them as it would be nice to wear something in warm weather to bushwack without tearing your base layers or skin up. But if I was going with one I think the catalyst would round out my layers better.

I concur with mflood on the corrugate guide stuff. It's pretty thin and super comfy but I wouldn't wear it in cold weather without a good base layer. I have the catalyst pants getting here next week and they're supposed to be warmer.

Whats the noise like on the Corrugate guide jacket? Is it quiet enough for archery spot and stock?

I would love to hear some feedback on this as well. I'm very close to pulling the trigger on the Corrugate Guide set, but will mainly be using it for early season archery.
