The hood looks nice!! My question is would the hood be uncomfortable, and/or more drafty to wear than without it. I'd like to wear it skiing sometimessage and leave the hood down. For hunting the hood would be nice. I know it's personal preference. Thanks Bill

The chama hoody is my go to first lite piece. There aren't many hunts that I don't have it with me. The hoody isn't cumbersome at all and it's nice to be able to pull it up over my hat if it gets chilly. It breaths well and drys fast. I think some synthetics like the core series has a higher warmth to weight ratio however the chama is no slouch

I was a no hood guy until I accidentally bought a chama with a hood. I see the purpose now.

Hood. Also get a separate neck gaiter and your set for quick concealment.

Tip: If you wear the gaiter over the hood it won't slide down.

Would it fit the same as a Llano? A large Llano fits me well. I tried one and like the Ibex Wooles 1 zip T a lititle more. Thanks

I think the Llano is intended to be a base layer fit, a little more snug. Where as the Chama pieces are a baggier fit for layering or stand alone wearing. I think First Lite's website says something about the fit of the one of these two (Llano or Chama).

I always size down on the Chama series. They definitely fit loose compared to the same size Llano. Chama is designed as a mid layer and thus it's bigger but I find it too big for my liking. I wear medium Llano base layer and small Chama.

And I like the hood.

I have both the hoody and one with out. Both are great and wouldn't want to give up either. I wear the no hood during the day and use the hoody as my go to sleep shirt. The hood keeps we warm while using an EE quilt.

Hoody for sure it fits perfect and you won't even know its there when it's down. it's by far the most comfortable merino Hoody that i own.

I don't like hoods on anything except my rain gear. If its cold I'm wearing a beanie anyway. Hoods get cumbersome if you are wearing multiple layers that each have a hood.

For me I like the option of a hoody on about all upper gear come October....just my personal preference and the hood on the chama has a nice fit

Charma hood is not cumbersome.

I would wear my Chama hoodie every day if I could. IMO it is the perfect mid weight layer. Hood is nice for glassing sessions to keep the wind or sun off my neck. Love it. I have a large also and a medium would have fit a little better.

Yeah, I use the hood for concealment too, not just to keep warm. Hides the sides and back if my head well and I can tuck my chin inside too. I always have a hat with me in the woods too but with the hood I got 85% of my head concealed.

It's the perfect weight.

I have found the same about sizing down - We were just last week in camp discussing "hoodys", the consensus was "how did we not figure hoodys out sooner ??" the Chama hoody is one great piece of clothing
