I have a llama that I run in large and I just got the puffy jacket in medium that fits me perfect. I'm wondering if the chama is looser like the puffy jacket and I can run a medium or is closer to the shirt size and I should run a large?

I'd say its somewhere in the middle. I wear a large Llano and medium Uncompahgre. My Chamas are also large but not nearly as tightly fitting as the Llano, but I suppose they are meant to be worn over the Llano anyways. Some good advice I received was to get a medium Halstead and it fits perfectly. So depending on the weather, two systems I run are:

Large Llano > Medium Halstead > Medium Uncompahgre Vest

or

Large Llano > Large Chama > Medium Uncompahgre Hoody

I think the Chama runs a bit big. I wear a Large Llano and Large Chama and feel like I could get away with a medium in the Chama if it weren't for the length. I don't understand why but my Llano is longer in the torso than my Chama. I guess if I'm wearing the Llano underneath it shouldn't matter if the Chama rides up and shows my stomach when I lift my arms but it still kind of bugs me, but then I have a long torso so that's part of the problem. Other than that I love that thing.

I'm 6' 175-180 and I wear a medium in llano, chama, springer, puffy jacket, Labrador, and rain gear. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the llano was a hair longer. Their model of buying everything in the same size and it being sized to layer on top of each other, works well for me.

I have a Chama hoody and it is big. I have a large and wish it was a medium for a little more snug fit. I am 6ft 185lbs.....
I can layer some tighter garments under it and it works great. One of my favorite pieces.

With First Lite, I'd definitely go a size smaller than you normally do, unless you like loose fitting clothes.

I'm not a loose fitting clothes guy, but I hate spandex fitting as well. Probably going to shoot for the medium and sell it if it's too small and run a large

Just one more reference here. I'm 5'9" 160 and I wear a medium chama and small puffy. The chama seems to be a little short so if I went down to a small I'm sure my belly would show. Still, my chamas both fit pretty tight around the arms and are not baggy at all. I think if you want it to fit more like a tight base layer then go with the size you wear for a puffy. If you want it to fit about like an ordinary everyday long sleeve shirt then size up one.

I'm 5'9 145 small chama and small llano
