A little bit of feedback on the Brook’s down sweater. I bought the XL and normally wear a large in most stuff Thats not an outer garment. 6’1” 185 pounds, somewhat of athletic build. My dress shirts are 16 x 35 and I have a 34 waist and 34 inseam.
The fit is really nice with some looseness under my arms and around the torso. I put it on over the furnace and Klamath and still not too tight. The body length is pretty long and if wearing under a hard shell I will probably have to be careful and make sure it doesn’t hang below in the back and get wet if raining/snowing. The sleeves are plenty long which I like as a lot of stuff really pulls up short when I stretch my arms out and up.
Quality looks good. There seems to be plenty of fill for what it is designed for and when holding up to the light good distribution of the down. Outer material is quieter than I expected. Seems and zippers all look solid. The hood is simply awesome and does not restrict movement.
For the XL the weight is 13.58 oz.
I bought this for an insulation layer on backpack hunts in Sept and Oct which it should be great for.
In would be hesitant to wear in any kind of brush without a hard shell. It seems more durable than some other light puffys I have had my hands on but obviously not a brush buster.
