Looking to take the kids out to go fishing. I’m no expert at fishing. My criteria are as follows:

1. Must be able to catch some fish to bring back and eat.

2. Must be in the mountains/ scenic location without tons of people.

3. No more than 1 hour or so from Colorado Springs.

I know I may need to compromise a bit on some of these. But let me know what ya got. If it’s a place you don’t want to mention on the thread feel free to PM me. Thanks!

You do realize that Colorado and “tons of people” are synonymous?

Pikes peak reservoirs or for a smaller lake manitou in woodland park are your best bets. Lots of other options that don’t quite meet your criteria.

If you’re no expert and want to get away from people, get ahold of Rob at Pikes Peak Charters. Super great guy and he’s got spots for whatever you’re looking for.

I do realize the amount of people here. But when I hunt, I can get away from other people easily. Maybe it’s not the same for fishing? Also, I would be going on a weekday, so that may help.

11 mile/ antero/ spinney/ 11 mile canyon pretty much all meet that criteria, check your regulations on keep sizes, keep in mind these places do get fished a bit so it’s not always a gimmie
