Taking the Fam to Rosemary Beach Fl for Spring Break. My teenage kids love fishing, especially my 15 yo daughter. Is March a descent time to catch some fish? If so, any Charters/Guides that you highly recommend. Options would be either Inshore, Nearshore or Deep Sea. Don't really care which, we just want to catch some fish. Thanks

Cobia should be still running, rule is two per boat, not person.

I've had friends that used a guy out of greyton beach, I can't think of his name, but can't be too many going out of greyton. You certainly won't have to drive as far early in the morning for Destin or PC. The guy I'm speaking of will do 1/2 days if you want that option.

Snapper season isn't in, buuutttttttt. ------ if the other fish aren't biting, hook a few snapper deep, start bringing them up, a good size shark may give you some fun.

spanish macks, pampano (wooooowwwwiiieeeee, I can make an awesome dip with this fish), specks, maybe sheeps.

Have you got a small two person kayak or a couple yolos, bring them, Lake Powell is awesome for some redfish and specs., or go farther in and catch some bass and bream. You can rent kayaks at Camp Helen for the day, or others will bring you one to your place. I like to turn left at the bridge and go back up in there a ways. If you bring your own, their is a public launch just the Publix side of the bridge.

We've got a couple places on 30-A, so know the area well, one is right next to Rosemary.

Great points above. If time allows, another option is a Surf Fishing guide. Or you can rent equipment and go without a guide, but either option is relatively inexpensive. I've been going down the past six years exclusively for the surf fishing. You're in the Pompano run window and can have some great days right from the beach on Pomp's, Red's, Blue's and Shark if you want them. No shortage of fish to catch with Blue Runner, Ladyfish, Whitening and Hardheads around.

Thanks for the great info so far. I won't be bringing any tackle since we are flying in, so I want it to be fully outfitted, We just show up, and the guide/charter provides the gear and gets us to wherever we need to be. I am all about low maintenance on my end, its vacation lol. I don't mind paying. 1/2 day trip would be plenty of time.

Look on Facebook at the Destin-Ft. Walton Fishing page and ask. They know a lot of guides in the 30a area. Also call Old Florida Outfitters in Watercolor and ask for recommendations. I will say that I have been down there a lot and never fished, but I live in Mississippi so if I am going to catch fish, I go to south Louisianna. If I am going to 30a I am going to vacation. It's a totally different fishery than what I am used to.

We fished with Sean Cramer of Shallow Water Expeditions (their service is out of Old Florida Outfitters in Watercolor) and I’d fish with him again any day. Not sure if he still guides with them or not. Shallow Water Expeditions was great to deal with and Sean worked hard, knew the area exceptionally well and was first class.

Following this... I've gone out deep sea fishing with a guy named Brantly out of Destin and had a ball. Need to look for contact info. I've also done inshore out of desin on the Choctawatchee Bay for reds and a good time with a guy named Rodeo. Also need to find their contact info. Lastly, I've launched my own kayak into the Bay and Hogtown Bayou and got on some big bull reds, trout, and fluke.

I’ve been going down there for 30 years. Stop by Yellowfin sports and ask what’s biting. Grab a few cheap rods and fish in the surf. I’ve always had great luck though I primarily fly fish now.

Surf fishing around Rosemary, ain't happening, too many people on both sides unless you walk about a mile either way. Please don't be that guy fishing right there where everyone is swimming or will be swimming. There will be enough Bulls and black tips around without trying to lure them in closer by fishing.

Now, you can run down to PC and fish off the pier, they have gear too if you want to rent or run into Wally World and buy tackle and bait, yep, that Wally World will have what you need to pier fish day or night. Catch a couple bonitos, put them in the cooler for later at night, try your hand at shark fishing. I've seen some mighty big bulls and hammer heads caught off that pier. Leave the tackle at the place your renting for the next person, who knows, there may be some there when you get there. It's the same as buying a few inexpensive beach chairs and kids sand stuff and leaving it.

Jealous! If you don't get any first hand recommendations here, stop at Half Hitch Tackle in Destin. Those guys have always steered me in the right direction over the years.
