Firstlite puffy vs brooks down sweater

Uncompahgre is very warm for the weight where as the brooks is more of a light early season peice. From my experience

Same here, cirrus is a great build up to cold weather option.
I've been running the cirrus for about 4 seasons. From September to November. I love it. I just got the brooks and will trying to find a comparison.

So I dont have the brooks but I have the uncomp and the uncomp foundry and I absolutely love the uncomp foundry. Its not that packable but its a bomb proof outerlayer and now I end up just packing a source vest to throw on underneath if I get cold when sitting. I use the uncomp as my everyday running around jacket and I like it but I would personally say go with the brooks for packable insulation but you'll need a catalyst or something to throw over it if youre gonna bust brush. Like everyone else has already stated. I like the uncomp under my challis fleece for scouting and just running around. If I'm backpacking I normally opt for down. But just food for thought that new primer puffy is essentially an uncomp but with a windproof layer also. Thats what I think ill pull the trigger on next for whitetail.
