First time reloader here looking for what has worked best for 7mm rem mag in a tikka t3. So far i have got the once fired brass out of my tikka, gm215 primers, 162 gr eldx. Still looking for a powder option. Anyone got any tips or anything that has patterned well out of there tikka

I don’t have a Tikka, but H1000, Retumbo and N560 have all worked with various bullets in mine. With your 162 ELDX, mine liked Retumbo. Would love to try Re26, but SWFA will have their 3-9 scopes in stock before I find Re26. Also, don’t overlook the Berger 168 VLD.

I agree with the above. I don't have Tikkas, but manufacturer isn't too significant. I have two 7RMs. My first loved Retumb with cci250 and 168 bergers. I tried to force feed retumbo to my second and it hated it. Extremely wild es, however it grouped quite nicely. It was only when i took it to distance i realized there was a significant problem. The second 7RM liked h-1000 and fed 215s. With the cost and availability of components, testing multiple combinations had become rather difficult. I have never tried N560, but if I were to pick up my first powder to try in hopes for sufficient results, I would choose h1000 for the mid to heavy 7mm projectiles. Just my 2 cents.

I do not have a Tikka but my 7 Rem Mag load is 175 Bergers over Retumbo, with CCI 250's. Could not quickly get the H1000 load to work vs the Retumbo so I stuck with Retumbo.

Check your twist rate for any of the heavier bullets if you ever look at going to a heavier bullet.

I used H1000 with CCI-250's and 162 eldx but with the tikka t3 / t3x, your limited to mag lengths. Mine shot those 162's ok, not great, but ok. I took the same combo in my 30+ year old Browning Abolt II 7mag, seated the bullet out much farther to .020" off lands and shot .311 moa.

As mentioned, H1000, Retumbo and N560

I’m on the road so I don’t have my notes

I was loading 160NAB over 4831 but when I played with 180ELDM I switched to H1000 for pressure issues

I’m not running hot and even with annealing and minimal case work I can’t get more than 7 loads from Peterson brass

162 eldm and h1000 worked beautifully in my 7rm tikka. 71.4gr h1000 in Hornady brass.

I think 7828 was made for the 7 rem mag.
Now if only Hodgdon would do a cranial/rectal extraction and start getting some IMR powders on the shelf. Particularly 7828. I was working up some loads in my .280 with it using 162 gr ELDX’s that showed great promise. Before I ran out 2+ years ago….

180 eldm over retumbo, n565, or n570 are all really good out of my 7rm. Getting 2975-3050 depending on powder charge and type. Currently running 2975 with 70gr of retumbo in adg brass with cci250s

7mm's love 160gr. bullets - i prefer nosler Partitions and Accubonds. RL26 works awsome if your lucky to have some.
