So, I’m a huge archery hunter, and where I hunt whitetails it’s shotgun only (I shoot a savage 20 gauge bolt) or muzzleloader. My brother and I are planning some future trips. First will be a rifle Muley hunt with elk, caribou, Coues, etc. to come.
After a bunch of research, I decided on a 308 Christensen Arms Mesa (I’m a lefty so I was a little limited). Was debating a Tikka too but by the time I did all the upgrades the CA has it’d be more money. Anyways now that I have the rifle coming I have some questions on optic/mount help.
For a lightweight backcountry rifle what scope do you recommend? Looking to be in the $400-$700 range. Right now I’m leaning towards a Vortex Razor HD LH 2-10x40. Also, does anyone have any experience with what height rings will fit with the 90 degree bolt throw on the Remington action. Can I get away with low? I’m think Talley’s are the way to go but my mind isn’t set yet.
Thanks!
