Like others have suggested, what’s your priority — the experience or the meat? If it’s the former, keep hunting. If it’s the latter, and you’re near enough the trailhead, drop the cow, get it to a meat locker and head back in.

My first OTC Archery hunt was this past September. I didn't even get a change to draw my bow. I agree with all these guys take the shot when you get it. You likely won't get another.
