I have heard that the First Lite puffy and rain jacket run a little big. Just curious if anyone wears the XL in KUIU and how that compares to the First Lite XL. I have some of the KUIU merino wool and guide jacket in XL and it fits perfect.
Thanks,
Ryan

I'm 6' 1" and 195. Run a large in FL AND XL in Kuiu.

Kuiu is a tighter fit, they call it an athletic cut. First Lite does run a little big in the puffy.

FL makes it big to go over the top, Kuiu super down is designed to go under soft shells/rain gear, so the cut is a bit smaller.

There are a lot of shirts where I can wear a Large, at least girth wise. But I bought a FL Llano in Large about a year ago or so and it was like trying to put on a small. Their Llano XL's fit me fairly well but still don't seem like XL's, and I'm a lean guy at 6'6/200. The Puffy jacket definitely has a little more room in an XL, but when I cinch down the bottom a little it fits great. The only KUIU I have is the Super Down jacket in an XL and it fits pretty well too. But I don't wear it "over" a bunch of stuff.

'i wear one size up in all my kuiu gear. i wear an xl in every other piece of clothing i own, the FL puffy fits great, especially over a heavy baselayer of sweatshirt.

KUIU is definitely trimmer. Pros and cons to each fit and the beauty of running both is the ability to size the gear to your use. A good way to look at it; using a size medium I wear my bino pouch or chest holster outside my KUIU jackets because it would be uncomfortable to wear inside. With the FL, its both easy and comfortable to run either behind the jacket.

Anybody else out their have a FL puffy and a Chama? I have a medium puffy that fits perfect and now wanting the Chama. Are the Chamas cut a little larger to layer like the puffy? Mine will most likely be layered over a thin merino s/s T, and thinner l/s T. I don't mind a fairly snug fit, but don't really want a compression type fit as my 2nd or 3rd layer.

I always go a size up in the base layers with all the different companies. I have a Llano in a size L that fits perfectly. I run mediums in all my other jackets, if that helps.
