Stratus is NOT a soft shell. It's a windproof fleece. But yes not insulated. The stratus is more or less dead silent. A jetstream is a softshell and has a little noise to it.

I mean the face fabric is obviously different than a traditional softshell but this jacket was clearly designed as their whitetail softshell. Construction-wise it's almost identical to the Jetstream too, just face fabric and features are where they differ. Regardless, the purpose of my original post was to point out that the OPs selected jackets for comparison were apples/oranges.
