I've got a pair of First Lite Red Desert boxers in XL, Pine color, that have been sitting in a drawer for a couple years now. I think I may have worn them once or twice for day trips but they were too big in the waist so I bought a pair in Large and have been using those ever since.
They are basically in perfect condition and the design itself is amazing (love the pair that fit!) with its long legs that don't ride up.
For reference, I typically wear a 34 to 36 waist in most jeans and a 36 in Kuiu pants. These are slightly baggy throughout (for a compression-like short) and loose in the waist. I'd recommend these if you wear a 38 or bigger.
