First lite or Exoficcio?

We are talking men's underwear here fellas. Want to avoid nastiness on my two hunts this September. Both will be about 12 days, and I intend to take two pairs so that I can wash one after use. Any other options will be considered as well.

Just bought some exofficio. The most comfy boxers I have owned. I prefer the loose fit to some of the other athletic boxers. The antimicrobial properties seem to actually work. I am on east coast and the wool ones are a little warm until November. Sierra trading has some icebreakers on sale. I have some but haven't worn them enough to give opinion.

I haven't seen a synthetic yet that can compete with wool for keeping the odor down after hunting hard. If someone says the Exofficio's can beat out wool, I'd be very interested.

The exos are comfortable but they will not keep odor down if that is what you are after, my smart wools are waaay better in that dept.

Exofficio's don't have the same odor control as my wool. However, They are much better in that department than any other synthetics I've tried. They are just so darn comfy.

If your solo hunting, go with whatever you want. If you're sharing a tent and don't want to offend or kill the other guy, go with wool. Nothing worse than having to catch a wiff of fromundah cheese.

Wool takes WAY longer to dry then Exo from my experience. Also, if you rotate two pair, one a day, then the smell is almost none existent. Peeps are all diff with how funky their nutter butter is so that smell part is very subjective

That's true about wool taking longer to dry out for sure. And...wool is heavier than their synthetic siblings. Some people can't smell very good either, so if that's the case, let the nard slime go.

Exofficio! Look at steep and cheap. On the daily deals page. Or just type in search box. I always find them there for 10 to 13$.

I have had great luck with the first lites. I play indoor soccer and can wear synthetics one day and the first lite the next day and there is no comparison on stank, wool hands down.

For boxers there are a few good options to put in the mix. Ice Breaker, T minus 33 and Mons Royal all make great wool clothing. However, for shirts, First Light all the way.

Wool takes a while to dry out, so that alone tends to make my nuts smell worse. Add to that, damp ass crack and nuts tends to lead to chafing, and even on top of that wool stretches out after a day and doesn't support the boys, and worse on some I get the constant riding up the crack.

Exo, I'd bet after wearing them on a hunt you will buy more to wear everyday. I know I did.

exo are the most comfortable shorts ive tried but they get funky. not as as fast as other sythetics. first lite still makes the cut for long trips

I'm an exo guy- comfortable and durable as hell. I'll bear the few extra ounces to change every couple of days.

I have been using exo for the last couple years, used two pair on a 10 day hunt two years ago and switched to them for everyday... havent looked back since!
