Out here in NE KS on some public land when an old barb wire fence reached up and bit me. After I picked myself up, dusted myself off, and made sure I was still on public land I noticed a hole in my FL kanabs. What's the best way to go about patching them? I have zero experience with sewing, but if I can fix them myself without it being too big a pain in the ass, I'll give it a shot. Looking to do something ASAP so I don't make the hole bigger.

Here's some photographic evidence:

A most basic repair would be to put fray check on the torn edges. If you wanted to do more, hand or machine stitch the area back together.

I can't tell how big the holes are but most of my pants have unrepaired holes. Just the nature of being out. That reminds me I have a nice hatchet cut in a new pair of pants I should fix.

Those have ripstop so the hole won't get much bigger. That said for $5 you will have a professional repair by a seamstress.

Call First Lite and ask them for some swatches of material for patches. I got a rip in mine last fall and called them, they sent me some material for free and I got a local seamstress to patch them up for me. I really like my Kanab pants, but they are not 'sharp rock proof'.

I have a pair that are a few years old with lots of holes(I am very hard on pants) I just left them be. They have't gotten any bigger.
