Hey Ya'll, I just purchased some FL gear for my wife and I. The did not have guide pants in my size so I couldn't order them. I got my wife the Alturas Women's Guide Pant. They are really nice and fit her very well but they seem a little loud ?
It says they are made from the same material as the men's corrugated guide pant. I have heard people say they love the FL guide pant so that is what I was going after but now have second thoughts.
I know the obsidian is softer and quieter yet but FL said they wont hold up as well as the corrugated plus I think they may not be as light weight.

Are you guys stalking in the swishy FL guide pants?

Anyone know how warm the obsidian are? I will be hunting in September in eastern Montana so it may get pretty warm.

I am going to call FL today and check on some of these things but wanted to also hear from some of you's

Any insight on this would be helpful!

My biggest problem with the obsidian was the fit. I’m 6’ 1” 195 and wear a 34x34 in most brands. The medium tall obsidian fit fine in the waist and was slightly long, but the fit was really baggy. I own some First Lite tops and jackets and generally like their stuff. Hopefully they can get more specific with their pant sizing as they continue to grow.

In my opinion, the Obsidians are significantly quieter than the Corrugates. Should be warm enough for the time period you'll be hunting. I just wear a base layer, when needed. I haven't had the Obsidians experience too much wear or have issues with snags, even busting through brush.

I purchased a couple pairs of the Kanab 2.0 (the predacsessor to the obsidian) few years ago. I also bought the Corugate guide pants at the same time. I cannot say if the Obsidians are as good as the Kanabs but after testing both my Corugate guide pants rarely leave the house. The Merino pants are where it's at for me. I would have bought the Obsidians but they never made them in ASAT. There are a couple of thread pulls in the Kanabs over the last two years but no holes. The Corrugates are great pants but Merino is quiter and breathes better. The Merino pants have taught me to hunt smarter and to avoid brush busting when possible.

What he said. Obsidians are ridiculously baggy. I like merino, but will stick with solid Prana Zions for now.
