I know these things were out of stock for a long time. I found them at Linton Outdoors and bought one in fusion. Got pretty here pretty quick. Like all of their merino, its really well made. Love the pattern. Only thing is if you have a big melon like me, it wont cover all of your ears. This shouldn't discourage people with average sized domes from buying though. Just thought I would throw it out there.

I wear a 7 1/2 hat and I bought the regular beanie and it's too small. I want a brimmed beanie in a bad way but can only assume it will fit as poorly as the regular one.

I wish they'd make one for us corn-fed boys with a lot of mental capacity!!

I'm a 7 1/4 and the brimmed beanie doesn't fit me well at all, it's just a soft hat that looks kinda weird ;) I'm looking forward to their 5 panel hat, I'll just throw that over my balaclava if I'm in need of keeping my ears warm.

I have a small head and it was just barely large enough to be passable for me. Switched beanies, even though I like the construction of it.

Looks like I'll follow this route. I'll get one of their balaclava.

I have a giant peach. 8-81/4 hat size. I love the brimmed beanie idea and beanies in general for hunting. Sorry to hear the first light beanie isn't an option. I found one at rei that works by a brand called Coal. It doesn't come in hunting colors though. I usually don't have enough room under a hat for insulation so if I want a brim and beanie I put one over the brimmed hat. Works well as long as you have a big enough beanie and your brimmed hat is pretty low profile.

I don't think the beanie is supposed to go over your ears, otherwise it wouldn't be called a beanie.

I take mine and wear it under my ball cap if it's that cold. I use the one without the brim.

A beanie is usually supposed to cover your ears and they even say so in their video for the brimmed beanie on the FL site. After watching the video it looks like they all have really small heads as they all have their ears completely covered. Well I guess that's both Kuiu and FL who can't make a hat sized for grown azz men: guess it's time to try Sitka. I have a big head at 7.75" but I always thought that 7.25 is a fair average for US males so I would think you'd design for that.

Yeah, way too small for my large noggin (8). I just throw one of my thin stocking caps over my ball cap=poor man's brimmed beanie.

I'm curious what it should be called if it does cover your ears. What is it about the name "beanie" that insinuates it shouldn't? Not trying to be a jerk. I really am curious.
