Well, you will still see adds, they will just be for random stuff. Tampon adds don't make me want to buy things though, so I still consider it a win.

You can also change privacy settings and decrease the amount of data collected on you to target advertising.

The scariest one to me is people "allow access to camera". TikTok as an example, has full access to your personal photos and videos whenever they want. Just as an FYI.

I unfollowed the MeatEater crew on Instagram, because all you see from Steve, Janis, Cal etc. are essentially First Lite ads, which added to all the actual First Lite ads are overwhelming.

Also, this is coming from someone who could be accurately described as a FL fanboy...

First Lite/Meateater seem to be particularly aggressive in the ad/marketing space over all the other companies I shop with, including sitka, kuiu, etc. etc.

If you use chrome just go to adblockplus.org and download it. Its free, you dont have to pay a thing and you will never see another add on youtube!

I've Googled the First Lite duffel about 1,000 times to show people. I legit love that bag.

I get soooooooo many ads for it, even though I don't need another one.

I always am joking about how one of their ads said "prepare your wish list tonight for the sale tomorrow AM"..... It always gets me laughing thinking about grown men out there making a wish list for hunting gear like little kids at Christmas

The new meateater gear podcast with janis and jordan budd sure seemed like little more than a 30 minute First Lite ad. I understand the financial motivation but I was disappointed. Love or hate Aron Snyder, at least he seems to be unbiased on gear brands.

I thought they were fairly “general” apart from using a FL guy for tech background. Granted they did focus on the omen set - my buddy thought it had the same FL heavy vibe though. I guess I kinda expected it going in.

Yea it was what i expected. It is just unreasonable to expect open minded opinions on clothing from people who work for a company that also owns a clothing company. What are they going to say, that they also really like the sitka rain gear?

With the amount of sales they've been doing this year combined with the aggressive advertising, makes me think they aren't doing so hot. Maybe spent too much $ on ex-sitka employees and ripping their designs off.
