Do the letter of the litter pertain to the sire or the dam? 11 litters seems a bit much on a female.

As was mentioned above it’s associated to the Kennel/breeder in chronological order.

For instance, Bachman Bay Kennels had their I, J, K litters this year from 3 different Dams. I believe it started from the German system and has carried over into some American breeders. It’s nice when looking through hunt test records as it’s an easy indicator to puppies produced from the same litter.

Nice looking GWP, get him on lots of wild birds and Join the NAVHDA chapter in your area if you have one. Their knowledge will be very valuable as you move along in your dogs training.

The best hunting dogs go hunting, a lot. Birds are the best teaching program out there. Steadyness, "whoa" and "here" are the 3 best things YOU can teach him. Force fetch if necessary.
