First and last Weatherby I’ll ever buy

Start a grief counseling club, I’ll join. Went through it with a couple kimbers 10+ yrs ago. Talked myself into that they were really nice but just “finicky”. Finally had enough with the accuracy, garbage finish and failure to feed. Sold everything and bought a few tikkas. Life is boringly accurate and I don’t know what to do with all my time
Man, I’d considered tikka’s but I just can’t get over how ugly I think they are (no offense lol). Maybe I’ll get fed up and sell the other two and buy a tikka barreled action and put a nicer stock on it

What are you going to do when you set it down on a log during hunting season and it gets dirty?

How does it shoot?
I don’t baby my hunting rifles by any means. Which is why I’d like it to be tough enough to be able to LOOK at it without the finish peeling off. If I just wanted a rifle that shoots well, I wouldn’t have to spend anywhere near $1600 to do it

I had a bad experience with Weatherby a few decades ago. They had their ammo in as I recall a 165 grain bullet. Might be off on that a bit. Anyway the rile shot ok then had outliers. My dealer sent it back and they supposedly fixed it. Well a box of ammo was now just as bad. So I called Weatherby directly. I got some fella on the line at the range. I told him about my issues and he said Hornady had changed the cannelure on the bullet and his guns will not shoot that ammo anymore. I said why would you guys put this ammo on dealers shelves when you know it will not shoot? His answer…sir I am in the shooting and testing department…….not the marketing department. I gave the gun back to the dealer and got a sako

Heck, for $1600 you can buy a SS Superlite and put it in a Manners stock.

I'm first in line usually to tell people to quit being ridiculous about minor cosmetic imperfections but that stock finish is past unacceptable. A little bubble here and there, whatever, but coming off immediately from light handling?
