I assembled my first hunting rifle a 300 PRC-
Defiance 300 PRC Anti action
26" proof carbon fiber pre-fit
Talley scope mounts
Ti Pro 5 break
Hawkins hunter bottom metal
Allterra carbon hunter 2 stock
Triggertech Diamond trigger
Leica Amplus 6. 3-18x44
Bedrock bedding
Weight: 7 lbs 1.6 oz

I have a few questions
1- What powders do you find work well pushing a 200-220 grain bullet?

2- How far off the lands in general are you finding the best accuracy?

3. What type accuracy should I expect out of this set up?

Thanks for your advice and opinions...I am just looking to get a rough idea of things to start my load work.

Nice build. That’s a crazy light rifle for 300PRC. Would like a follow up on how it shoots.

100 yds
First three shots into 1.10 inches
Shots 4-7 into 0.75
Shots 8-12 into 1.00
Shots 13-17 into 0.65
Factory Barnes ammo, lapua brass, 205 grain elite hunter.
Velocity unknown.
I will be taking my chrono out...I plan on trying H-1000 & Barnes through it when I start to reload.

Curious on where you ended up. I have 215 bergers, 180gr ttsx, and 200gr accubonds that I'd like to try. I have H1000, Retumbo, and Staball HD and I'm working with a 22" barrel.

Was planning on loading up some mild loads with each and sending about 30 to 50rds down range to break it in and I'll run a very rough seating depth test while I'm doing it just to get me in the ballpark.

Waiting on my stock to show up and I'll be set but wanted to see what sort of info you were able to gather testing.

Just finished some load work on a buddies rifle. The 215 and ELD-X were seated roughly .030"-.050" off the lands with boat tail edge at neck/shoulder junction. 200.20x has way shorter bearing surface and was around .125" off with about 3/4 of bearing surface seated in the neck. *Loads are at or above some book max.

SAAMI 300 PRC - Defiance AnTi, 26" Proof Sendero, fireformed ADG, Fed 215M, H1000.
Berger 215 Hybrid 81gr - 2970
Berger 200.20x Hybrid 83gr - 3090
212 ELD-X 80gr - 2900

Both my brother-in-law and I have Seekins Havak PH2’s in 300 PRC. 26” tube.

Berger 215’s about .040 off the lands
H1000 @ 77.54 gr
Fed 215M primers
Virgin ADG brass
Velocities were right around 2915.

I developed this load in my rifle and when testing was done, this was the proof target from testing it in his rifle.

Custom built 300 PRC, Lone Peak Ti action, proof Sendero carbon barrel 24”, McMillan game hunter stock, trigger tech diamond trigger.
ADG brass
78.3 grains h1000
Berger 215 hybrid @ .020 off lands
Fed 215m primers
Velocity 2880fps ES 15 SD 8.2

This is my last 3 shot group @100 yards. Yes it was 3 shots, I couldn’t believe it either! This load to this rifle averages between 3/8” - 1/2”. Some better as seen below and some worse.
