Feet trouble

Wearing Crispi Idaho's, wool socks. All spring hiking and turkey hunting no trouble at all. Logged probably close to 50 miles or better. Love the boot! Started hiking with a 60lb pack.

All still great, untill I go down hill..... the bottoms of my feet, heels mostly get hot spots. They get awefully tender. Ive had 4 hikes, same mountain, tried different socks, tighter and looser laces, no effect. Really tight laces helped some, but not much.

Still on the original insoles, thinking about the superfeet Green insoles..... Will it help? Other options.

Thanks all!

They may help some.
I like the sole footbed better. Same shape but the superfeet have a 3/4 ish length shank then full length foam.
Sole they are both full length.
The color determines how thick they are.
I'd try it and maybe thicker/cushioned socks.
Also where your laces go from fixed eyelets to the hooks, instead of crossing straight over, go straight up then across and behind the lace, pull tite then across and up to next hook.
YouTube heel lock lacing for a visual of needed.

BRTreedogs,
Thank you for the recommendation, and the link. I will definitely try it.

My heels do not seem loose, and I've not had blisters or hot spots on the back or sides of my heels. It's just the bottom, and only on steep decents with a heavy pack.

Those lacing techniques I think will help keep your foot back as well.
Basically have 4 times the lace material crossing where your foot flexes.
Hopefully that helps.

Follow up.

Tried all the lacing techniques I could find, but none solved the problem of the BOTTOM of my heel getting hot and hurting. Spent the $50.00 and got the Superfeet Green Insoles.

PERFECTION! 2 hikes, no hot spots.

Thanks for all the recommendations!

Hope they do this well in IDAHO next week.
