I found some 308 of this ammo online. It appears to be an upgraded Federal long range ammo. Anyone tried it?

I shot it for groups today out of my Weatherby Vanguard. .300 WinMag 200grns. So far the best groups over Barnes and trophy copper.
First group from clean gun was 2”. Next three were all sub moa.
Looking forward to killing with it later this year. I’ll let you know how it performs.

Well how did they perform? I'm looking at getting a Vanguard Weather 300 win mag with the 200 grain Terminal Ascent's in mind. Hoping they shoot well out of it!

I have shot them out of my creed, and we killed a few critters with them.

315yds was the longest range we have killed anything with them, but performance has been excellent so far, and they are very accurate out of the 2 rifles I have shot them through

I shot the federal 200 terminal assent out of my x-bolt 300 win last year for elk. Accuracy was around an inch. Unfortunately I didn’t get a shot at an elk, however I was impressed by the accuracy. This is the velocity out of a 23 inch barrel.

This was recovered from a 130 yard quartering uphill shot on a five point bull. Bullet entered behind left shoulder, blew through both lungs and broke opposite shoulder, came to rest against the hide without an exit. This was a 175 grainer, 85% weight retention. Personally I’d feel more comfortable using this in a WinMag but wouldn’t hesitate to use it again in a 308 as long as shots were kept fairly close.

What cartridge was used? What was the initial velocity?

Asking since I just spent some time shooting the TA for 308 Win and 30-06.

Speeds were good:
308 Win - 20" Barrel - 2614 fps
30-06 - 22" Barrel - 2721 fps

Accuracy was good on both. Will see if a mature black bear boar cooperates.

308 Win, MV 2405 fps

Here is another sample from 130gr 6.5 gender bender at 315yds breaking spine on the way in, busted knuckle on exit and came to rest in off side hide

Really good ammo!
I shot a few hundred rounds of it in 2020 out of a 16" 308. Shot as good as FGGM out to 600.

Velocity is slow for my liking in a hunting rifle, but that is really due to the short barrel.

Had complete pass throughs on 2 whitetail bucks as well as an old aoudad through both shoulders.

Highly recommend! I've really been wanting to find some in 280AI, but haven't seen any turn up in over a year.

I think of that projectile as a kind of "modern day partition". The front is tipped, expands quickly and at long range, and the base is pretty much solid and will guarantee penetration.

Performed flawlessly. I’ve got pictures in some other thread. I would hunt anything with this bullet. Extremely accurate and durable.
