What do you think these are?

At first I was thinking 3 toed bird.

Now I'm thinking clumsy just born fawn.

if they are fresh as in the last few weeks, it isn't a fawn. But those don't look like deer anyway.

At first I was thinking racoon, then saw the scapula for reference and way too big for coon.

I think these are likely turkey tracks just looking funny due to the mud and not perfect pics.

Some good guesses there. Stuff I dodn't think of and was biased to my location (though I have plenty of dillos).

Whatever it is, these tracks were either from something heavy or super fresh in the mud that was squishy. Based on your boot/foot impressions, the ground has hardened up a lot. Makes you think something was digging in and a small gator may be the winner if that is an option based on location.

But the only think I have against the gator is the inline tracks...I would think a gator would be more offest since the body creates a gait which is not inline.

Back to the drawing board for me....

I broke down and looked at some pics online...I bet its a muskrat/nutria/some form of rodent varmint like that.

Beaver will give a similar track but they have webbed feet so tone of the above rodentia varieties is my highly likely candidate.

I think "armadillo" nailed it. Gait is right too...I got tripped up on the couple sets of mini deer looking tracks next to that really good 3 toe print.

That's fresh fill dirt on a road we're grading.

I saw some coyote tracks too and set some traps.
