What’s everyone’s favorite turkey vest?

For reference I’m a small guy, 5’-7” 140 pounds slim/athletic build so most vests are huge on me.

Currently running an RNG200 but looking at the RNG300 or the Grounded Impact 2.0 vest.

IMO you already have the best vest. I love my RNG 200. Simple, lightweight and affordable. I don't have a ton of experience with other vests, but the RNG is my favorite by far.

I do like it, I just wish it had a little more room for stripping layers when it’s chilly in the morning then hot by noon.

Yeah, I understand that. Most of my hunting is in PA and our season doesn't start till May so there isn't a ton of variability in temp throughout the day. Typically, its warm and stays warm. I may have to shed a grid fleece but that fits in the pack pretty easily.

I’m in WV, ours starts in April maybe a week or two before yours. Basically the same weather but sometimes we’ll get a cold morning.

The RNG 200 is a great layout but it’s so cheaply made that it’s all but useless. The fabric is so thin putting anything away is a 2 handed operation.

My current favorite is the Sitka turkey tool belt. The Sitka equinox is decent. The first lite treeline, tethrd M2 and final rise are top of the heap options. I also run an Exo K4 with FHF turkey call pouches at times.

I replaced my turkey vest with a seek outside frame and Merlin talon around ~8 years ago and love it. I also added the flip down seat off my old vest. Has enough room to hold jackets after it warms up, holds a water bladder, and packs out a turkey way better than any vest. I’m very happy with it and would recommend. It helps justify the cost if you’re also using it as an elk pack.

This is the only picture I have but you get the idea.IMG_3909.jpeg

I am currently using the Sitka vest, prior to that the RNG 200, both are great and have their advantages but I think the Sitka is a little better.

A Glenda Green satchel and seat have replaced my vest. I’ve been running this setup for 3+ years. I’ve really been pleased. I give my vest to my teenage son.

Haha yep, that's the other state I hunt consistently. I think last year was the first year I didn't get snowed on in the last 3 years.

I use a Bucklick Creek vest that I bought in ‘99. I think Bass Pro/Cabela’s sells a version of it now, but it ain’t the same.

I bought a marsupial belt, added some pockets I had laying around, and a amazon seat that I attached with some buckles. Pretty pumped to try it out this year as I've been looking to get away from a vest.

Not very cost effective to buy and build but I already had everything except the belt laying around.

Marsupial belt
Kifaru shape charge (wipes, 2 extra shells, orange panel, thermacell, warm jacket, and can strap more on the outside if needed)
Kifaru mini pocket (holds one pot call, two strikers, mouth calls, 2x 12' paracord, locator call, and multi tool with saw)
Pods Nalgene Pocket (nalgene)
Amazon seat attached with tri glides and sr buckle.

Do you have picture of your setup? Just curious how it looks.

Thanks
