Hey Folks,
I'm looking to branch out, what are some of your favorite podcasts for different outdoor topics?
I.E. hunting/public land politics, elk hunting, wild game cooking, backcountry backpacking, etc.

best, AGHpaddler

Meateater - with Steven Rinella is great
Nockon- with john Dudley very archery heavy though
Grittybowmen- Brian something is always good if your a white tail hunter
Joe Rogan experience - joe rogan if you scroll through he's got ones with hunters/fisherman on the show

I cycle through those pretty frequently.

Another that I rarely listen to, but will is
"Living country in the city"

Kifarucast is probably my favorite right now. It used to be the meat eater podcast but lately there podcasts have really gone downhill the last few seem like they’re sitting around in a circle getting high talking about nothing... used to be a lot more informative

Lots of other good ones out there!

I used to listen to the hunting collective, but I feel like Ben is a baby back bitch of late. The whole crying over kills and posting pictures, and the whole grizzly thing really bugged me. But listen and decide for yourself!

Public lands/politics- Meateater, Newberg, and Gritty
Gear/backpacking- :love:Avery Adventures:love:, Kifarucast
Elk Hunting- all of the above
Cooking- YouTube :ROFLMAO:

One that I finally listened to and really ended up enjoying was Wilderness Attitude by Brandon Waddell, pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Have the new Inspired Wild on queue, Trevon Stoltzfus and his crew should be entertaining at the least.

Randy and Candy Yow's Extreme Desire podcast is decent too, salt of the earth type people and they consistently get it done year after year

I'd add in tundra talk along with the ones everyone else has mentioned.

I here you on the hunting collective I couldn’t take it when he was talking to Charles post on grizzly bears. Kinda sickening listening to two guys who just moved to Montana and that have no clue on bears talk about it. Pretty sad when a supposed voice in the hunting community all but come out against g bear hunting.

I’ve listened to almost all of Bens podcasts and I just dont respect the guy. He seems very much like a hanger-on who shapes his thoughts to fit whoever he is talking to. And his language is really pathetic. As I said elsewhere, anyone who refers to a doe deer as a “mo********er” really has a problem. He does not do much to elevate the conversation.

I really used to enjoy that podcast and still do most episodes. I don't know who that Ben guy is or where he came from, but he doesn't add anything useful besides his pompous views. This week is the first time I actually didn't listen to the entire episode. I couldn't take it. I'm not sure how them guys got tied in with him; he seems like he doesn't fit with at least what I have come to understand what meat eater stood for (based solely on their hundreds of podcast episodes I've listened to and not personal interaction).

I'll also add tundra talk. Blue collar get it done no bull sh*t or beating around the bush to impress anyone. And it's nice to finally have a realistic AK podcast with people speaking on years of experience and not just summing up a single trip and acting like an expert.

I only have time right now to barely listen to Kifarucast and Elk Talk. There is a whole thread on here about the pros and cons of Kifarucast. The pros for me outweigh the cons. The cons most guys talk about is the language. That is the way my buddies and I talk so it doesn't really effect me. I don't listen to it while my wife is around. Elk Talk is with Randy Newberg and Corey Jacobsen. They both have great knowledge of elk, which is my favorite animal to hunt. The beginning is all sponsor stuff, but once you skip through that it is usually pretty good.

I thought i was going to get some flack about not liking the dude. But good to know I'm not alone!

I had never heard of Tundra Talk, definitely going to give them a listen. As someone who wants to hunt AK in the future, I'm sure it will get me pumped up for that!

I really enjoy The Stick Bow Chronicles. They have had Aron Snyder and some other guys you have never heard of. It's a traditional archery one with some great hunting stories. I also enjoy most of the other ones too. Enjoy!

Nock On Podcast by John Dudley, if you're looking for pure archery information then I would highly reccomend it. Great tips for bowhunting whitetail, elk, turkey & sometimes bear.

I'll add The Rookie Hunter podcast to the list. Couple of Canadians figuring things out.

And I also can't stand that Ben O'Brien guy. Tried listening to a few episodes of the Hunting Collective podcast, but the conversations were nowhere near as intelligent or nuanced as claimed by the host.
