Handloaded 124gr Hammer Hunter have been excellent for sheep, caribou, bears, and moose. The 127gr LRX is also decent, but in the 3 Creedmoors I load for, the Hammers shoot better and they seem to kill a bit quicker too. I believe there are a few companies that load the Hammers if you don't reload.

H 4350. 2840fps sd 5. Tried rl16 also. H4350 shot better in my rifle.
I ended up with Staball at 43 grains and 127 LRX. How much H4350 are you running? I've got a bunch of 4350 and want to maybe run that for a load. My son was drawn for a cow elk youth hunt. I'm gonna ladder a load in the upper two grains of the load data on Barnes. Just curious how much it took to hit 2840fps

My 127 lrx load is 42 gr h4350, 210 primer, nosler brass. 22 inch brux barrel.
Copy that. I should be able to achieve those velocities in my 24" proof barrel. Slightly different components but shouldn't matter too much. Lapua SRP and br4's. Thank for your response. My son is hyper. Gonna be his first big game hunt.

Good luck to you guys on your hunt. My son is 12 and will have a couple tags in his pocket this year.

One more for 124 Hammer Hunters. Getting 2985 fps with H4350 in a factory barrel using Lapua brass and CCI450s. Just sighted in yesterday and 5 round groups were all under .75 MOA

What’s the wind number and where does it hit 2000 fps with that MV?

Wind deflection looks like 2.5" per 200 yards for a 10mph crosswind at 90°. Drops below 2000 fps at 500 yards depending on altitude, 1800 fps of 628 yards. Applied Ballistics has the G7 BC as 0.208.

Can you speak to terminal performance of these two bullets with impact velocities in the 1800-2000fps range, if you have any experience there. Trying to get a sense of the true effective range for them.
