It really depends on the temperature ranges you hunt in. I'm fortunate to live 1/2hr from an outlet so am very familiar with both the peletons and merino tops. In the 30 to 50 degree range I'd say a 200 merino with a 200-240 peleton would work great. Haven't tried their strong fleece so cant' comment on it.

Peleton 240. Wear over a thin synthetic base layer.

Edit: anyone worn a 97 under a 240? A tiny bit of insulation would go a long way with the 240.

Another vote for the Peloton 200 hoody. I've beat the heck out of it for years. However, the 97 is epic too. Just a little more fragile. The 200 is barely warmer though and 2x the weight. You could almost double up on the 97's and use a quarter zip in a size down as a baselayer then a hoody in a normal size. But I like the ambient for that purpose.

I didn't really care that much for the Strongfleece. It has a sheen to it I didn't care for. But I like it more than a softshell. The 200 has been plenty durable for me. I'd do a 240 before it the Strongfleece.

I’ve doubled up a pair of 97s, works good for low activity and regulating body temperature when the day goes from cold to chilly but never gets warm.

For warmer hunts and bow hunting, I like my merino hoodies like the ultra 145 as seems to stink on multiple days where as the Pelton 97 stunk after 1 day of hiking. During rifle and colder hunts, the Pelton 200 and Strongfleece are my go to pieces as warm and can be worn with out outer layers when hiking and don't seem to stink as bad in the cold months. Just my 2 cents.
