I know this is backwards but here is my dad’s first elk. after tough battle with cancer along with other things, we got out and I pushed him up the hill…made the shot even though he scoped himself in the process. Luckily blood freezes quickly at 0 degrees.

Took my son along to Colorado on a 4th season bull hunt. Didn't fill the tag because I got greedy and didn't shoot the first legal bull. Could have tagged out 2hrs into opening morning. But got greedy and came up empty.

Tikka 30-06, simple and effective. Sadly not doing to well, hasn't been able to go out the last couple of years. Has terrible arthritis in his hands, back, and knees. Hoping to get him to lose some lb to see if it helps and maybe get back out again.

All three of my kids started following me up the mount before they could legally hunt and all have been avid hunters since the age of 12 making a lifetime of memories. We still hunt together every fall, the only difference is that I follow them up the mountain now.

My son's been coming to archery elk camp for many years. And he’s killed his share of elk as he got older.

My Son wore his hunting hat for over 20 years too, I'm sure there's some luck in them! (grin) He never wore it other than hunting, I always wondered why!

I've had a lot of fun adventures with my dad. I hope my boys one day look back on memories of us the same as I do with my dad.

A few over the decades…the one is his old timer camp from 2003 opening day we each got bulls miles apart. Now I’m the old timer some from way back in the 80s..someone asked about living in Sandpoint recently this was the attire in Sandpoint in the 80s wool and heavy packs and tough crews…a little bit of change since then.
