By way of context, I'm the father of three daughters 25, 23 and 21. They are all exceptional hunters and marksmen with varying degrees of love for hunting. A couple years ago I gave them the choice of one NA big game animal to chase. The deal was, they pick the animal and I pick the outfitter. Annie picked Grizzly so we booked with Jake Jefferson and took a couple great bears. Ainsley picked a moose so I booked with Lancaster's NWT in 2027. Abby my oldest also picked a moose, but she has an eye for hiking and adventure so I went with Golden Bear in BC. We just finished our hunt and I'm still recovering! This hunt also allowed me to tag goat, if there was time. We took two Mountain Ascents in 6.5 CM and .308. In actuality, we only hunted with the 6.5CM to save weight - end the end we peeled something else out of our packs to save weight. The hiking, and metal toughness required was more than I expected. Abby had her first baby 6 months prior so going on this hunt held several challenges beyond just the physical. In any case, we landed at Golden Bears Rock Island camp and met the two finest guides in the business, Ross and Samantha with their elkhound moose. These two would serve as our therapist, survivalists, cooks and hunting guides for the next 10 days. They were simply the best! We are deeply grateful for their kindness and patience with us as we fought through the grind of mountain hunting. We saw rain, snow, wind and sunshine. In the end, Abby connected on a great 53" bull with the 6.5CM at 450 yards. A couple well placed ELDx bullets dropped the old bull. My 9 1/8" goat fell to the same round at 130 yards. It's tradition at the camp that you write on the wall your names including where you're from and a few words about your trophy. It was cool to see Jason Hairston's name on the wall. We added to our story and the phase "the 6.5CM didn't need more." It performed flawlessly. This is now the 2nd +50" bull this gun has taken. Golden Bear exceeded our expectations. Many thanks again to Blake, Ross, Samantha and the others who make the outfitter work for the extreme adventure seekers or those like Abby and I just barely hanging on! If you'd like a reference, just DM me.

What a monster bull! Congrats to you both. Those are memories that will last a lifetime! Thank you for sharing as I hope that one day my daughter and I will be able to experience something similar. She begins her hunting career next month.

Congrats! It’s great to see another dad with three daughters hunting with his girls and making memories. Mine are much younger and pray they will still want to go out and hunt with me in their twenties.

Congratulations to both you and your Daughter. Awesome Bull and goat. Memories to last a lifetime I'm sure. Thank you for sharing your story and photos.

Excellent pictures. Congratulations on your/your daughter's success! How fortunate that you can take them on these great adventures...I know they will remember these for the rest of their lives.
