Fairbanks car rental options

Hey guys I leave 3 weeks from Thursday for my first sheep hunt in Alaska. Can't wait. Looking for any advice on what you guys have rented in the past. I can rent a little car from the airport or a pickup truck from uhaul for the same price. Would prefer a uhaul van but they are already all taken. Any recommendations??

Where are you driving to meet your outfitter? There’s restrictions with some rental companies up there.

I have to drive to Healy. I was going to take the shuttle but they aren't running this year with covid

i rented a little car from the airport, cheapest possible, because it sat at Healy airport during hunt. Who are you hunting with?

Company called GoNorth is doing a bunch of rentals this year. I rented an RV from them and I think they do cars too. Had some really good rates earlier this summer. They have Fairbanks and anchorage locations.

Healy is a short drive from Fairbanks on good roads. Just rent the cheapest car you can find at the Fairbanks airport.

Yes. It's a 2 hr drive on one of the busiest major highways in Alaska. Any compact car will do ya.

I did, I had a great experience, took a nice ram on day 4 I believe. Overall, It was exactly what I was looking for and would love to do it again.
