Factory ammo 16” tikka 6.5 creed

I have a few boxes and was going to chrono them the other day, but got sidetracked.

FWIW out of 16.5” Tikka with a can:

• 140 ELD-M averaged 2621 fps MV
• 147 ELD-M averaged 2682 fps MV

Just what I needed. Thank you. Hopefully it shoots just as well out of my shorty.

Were those factory or hand loads? I was roughly 170 fps slower out of mine, although my rifle as about 50 rounds through it so far.

That is insanely fast for hornady factory ammo. That’s 100fps faster than my 20” ctr

No way that’s factory. I’m loading SPICY Lapua brass 147gr ELDMs out of an 18” Tikka with suppressor and getting around 2650.

That’s Hornady factory - BUT a huge flounder on my part. I had a brain fart and got excited to share results of my 16.5” Tikka - but my 16.5” Tikka is 223. The above speeds are from my Sako S20 WITH A 24” BARREL.

Not the first and won’t be the last idiot post by me. Sorry to all.

I would probably shoot the 140gr ELD-M factory load. Or the 143gr ELD-X.


Or, more likely the Federal Tru 140gr TMK.

Any chance we’ll see the 140gr TMK as a stand alone product?

Those Federal TRU TMK loads are a unicorn. I’m not convinced they actually exist.

Here are the results with my first range session with a chrono

Tikka t3x 18" barrel with a suppressor

• 140 ELD-M - 2518 fps
• 143 ELD-X - 2505 fps
• 147 ELD-M - 2461 fps

147 ELD-M was grouping the best
