Maybe I misread your post. I saw 130 grain coreloks. The word on the street is 1500 ft lbs. We are all on the same team. I don't want to argue.General consensus is 1200 ft lbs is required for a humane kill on an elk. A hornady superformance 130 grain carries 1200 ft lbs to 590 yards. But yes, a well placed shot is vastly most important.
