An amazing story. An amazing find.

Can you talk of a different type of men. If you ever get the chance read some of the book.

The epic part of the expedition is sailing the 22’ lifeboat 860 miles across open ocean in 14 days, and accurately finding S. Georgia Island. Certain death if they had missed and sailed past it.

It really is an unreal story of skill, toughness, and ability. Humbling for sure.

Re-touched footage of the Endurance caught in the ice in 1915. Pretty amazing to see her now at the bottom so we'll preserved.

Shackleton's leadership was amazing. The fact all hands survived, miraculous.

Men were certainly men and a hearty bunch at that.

And then they had 32 miles to hike over the mountains to reach the whaling station. To think I get frustrated when I come out to a road and still have a few miles back to camp, its humbling for sure.

Turn of the century polar exploration is full of absolutely astounding stories of human endurance and tragedy.
Great reading to make you feel 'soft'

The last place shackelton stopped on the way to disaster the fisherman told him he was making a huge mistake going there....not to go there and if he did it would end in disaster.

The book is simply titled “Endurance.”

My favorite part of the book is when he gets back to the whaling station and simply states, “I am Shackleton.”

Anyone who enjoys this would surely also enjoy "In the Kingdom of Ice" (H. Sides) and "Labyrinth of Ice" (B. Levy). Good books too.
Sheesh, talk about some tough dudes
