Experience with smartwatch compass?

I'm really curious about these new fangled smartwatch compasses. How accurate, in the real world, is the magnetic compass? I read that some have a +/- range of a few, or several?, degrees.

Any real world experience? Can I trust one of these?

Following. I had a sunntoo 10+ years ago and it was a POS. Altimeter sucked and compass started out sucking and then was just flat wrong.

Curious to see if they have evolved well.

I don't trust e-compasses and I intend to use my Instinct only as a backup. I have a ball compass on my pack strap that I navigate with.

I got a Suunto Traverse recently and while I haven't checked it to a good old fashioned compass I do know that the little magnet in my badge holder at work will throw it off if it remotely close to the watch.

Look out for magnet closures on bino harnesses, too.
