I have the first Gen Outdoorsmans tripod and looking to upgrade to the new generation and curious if anyone has advise as to the differences. Thanks Rick

I wouldn’t hesitate to give them a call, get a real person every time and they will walk you through the differences. They’ve been very patient and helpful with my last 2 purchases

I called myself - so I’ll see what they tell you when you respond to this thread

Double the money and weight savings are fairly negligible. Features are about the same as current tripod but maybe shaves a few seconds on adjusting legs

If you cut down every time in your pack to save weight - and this was the last time you were trying to save about half a pound on - then I think you need it.

Otherwise - use ole Trusty

I have two outdoorsman’s tripods and almost upgraded but didn’t.

Look fwd to see what you decide to do

Thanks for the input. Sometimes the original is better than the later models produced. Just wanted to confirm the new is as good or better than original.

If money is no object - sure I’m sure it’s totally worth it

If you saved more weight than 8 oz you save (depending on which height), it is worth it

Again - that’s my opinion.
