Anyone have experience with the Boyd’s quest stocks? Thinking about one for my browning x bolt (not many stock options). Seems to check a lot of boxes, lighter weight at 2.3 pounds, vertical grip, reasonable price, etc.

I don't have experience with the quest but boyd's stock require bedding and some sanding to get dialed in my experience.

No experience with that specific model but I "built" a cheap beater savage axis I had laying around and got one of their stocks for it. I was a little upset about the factory inletting on the stock. It took quite a bit of work making sure my stock fit my action. I ended up spending quite a while on it and bedded it with marine tex. If you're not scared of some work and bedding, go for it.

Thanks. I do some woodworking as a hobby, so I don’t mind a little sanding / fitting.

I have restocked at least 4 different rifle's with Boyds Stocks.
I have had very good experience with them. If your rifle is outside "stock" parameters than yes your will need to do some additional work. It is my opinion that all rifles need to be bedded with no exceptions except maybe an aluminum chassis type stock and I've heard of guys bedding those. I've not had any quality issues at all.
