I've read a bunch of threads on here and I've narrowed my choices for a new pad down to the Exped UL9 and the Therma Rest Neoair Max. Anyone have anything to sway one way or another? Would these be considered direct competitors?

I think they are probably competitors and similar- similar size, r values of 6 and 5.7 respectively and weights are relatively close- 28.5 oz vs 23 oz (XTherm being lighter)

I own and use a XTherm and have nothing but good things to say about it, have not used the Exped. I also have experience with Cascade Designs (Thermarest, MSR, etc) warranty and customer service and have to say it's probably the best in the business.

I have the XTherm but started looking online for a Exped UL 9 and it looks like they are discontinued at a number of retailers and/or out of stock. Wonder if they are coming out with a new generation or if they are just having trouble keeping up with demand...
