If your ordering a bag to do this. Put a note in there that your doing to to put on the Kifaru Frame and that you need him to send another set of the Lid straps with buckles. That way he knows so youll have a way to attach the back part of the Exo lid. Let us know how it goes.

Got my pack back from SHTF and first impression was very impressed. I had the EXO pack/frame for a couple months and just got use to it, and I guess I will have to do the same for the Kifaru. Keep in mind that I'm a rookie with these packs, so experience is none, but I obviously felt a big difference in lumbar support on the Kifaru. Had some sizing issues due to not knowing what the heck I was doing. After spending some time I think I got it sized about right. Adjusting the new Kifaru shoulder straps is a breeze even for me. Honestly I liked the flex at the waist better on the Exo, with the bendability and twist of the frame. The Kifaru is a lot more stiff feeling. The workmanship of the Kifaru frame does feel and look like it will last longer but what do I know. I'm also in favor of the Exo compression straps integrated on the frame to compress whatever load I had on the frame, then pop the bag on top. The Exo frame definitely has a lot of really nice details they thought out without having to buy accessories. Pretty much ready to go. I have a lot more tweeting and getting familiar with the setup before I make my final decision which I like better. Now, I'm leaning at liking my Exo set up better just because I was familiar with it and needed no more accessories. I know this was expected as we are dealing with two different systems, and tweeting will be needed. James did a great job setting it all up and I'm having a blast learning about these packs. There is no better way to get familiar with these by doing what we are doing.

Though I better dig this thread up and ask again the difference in installing the 5500 bag on the UL Duplex frame. Gonna get the frame soon and wanna cross all my t's.

Kipper09, check this option out. This was my EXO pack, and SHTF did his magic on it. I still have the EXO, but bought a cargo panel and camp pack as well. Only reason for cargo panel was to carry out a whole deer from Tx public land. We can't break the deer down, so this was pretty much my reason for CP. j liked it, but too many friggin clips!! Clip to this, clip to that, clip over there, clip on that side, clip underneath, clip on top. Oops!! Forgot somrthing in the bag. Unclip this, unclip that, unclip under here, unclip over there....get it??? Ugh

I just set my Exo 3500 onto my Kifaru UL Hunting frame. 75lbs in and a trip around the development. Feels great, looks great. Best of both worlds. I too really like the Exo frame. If I could put the Kifaru belt and shoulder straps on the Exo frame it would be my desk pack.

Has anyone had any success asking them for this or the buckles? I just got my 3500 from DWinVA and I just put it on the frame. One frustrating thing with this one is that the opening at the top of the stays seems much smaller than the one SHTF had as I was barely able to get the common loops through (this took way longer than it should).

I'm doing a 5500 on a UL Duplex right now. I contacted EXO and was working on getting the straps but havn't heard from him in a few days? I'm guessing he's not cking emails every day. He told me the two straps for the lid were $8. My 5500 is gonna be a piece of cake and I'm making a small change from what SHTF did. I'll keep you posted on the straps. They're kind of holding me back because if I can't get them I know you can just buy the buckles online and make your own if you can sew them.

Whats your challenge? We are local so I could have you bring it over so I can show you a few tricks. Just PM me and we can work out sometime this week after 630pm. If its just the straps you need call them. Steve is out a lot and hunts a lot so he isn't always answering emails. But if you call them at SS archery they have someone who works that always answers calls.

Yeah, I'm just planning on using my ones from my EMR2. However Kifaru's 1" male clips won't fit into the Exo 1" female clips, so I'm going to see if they can throw 4 in with the lid straps when I get a sec to call them so that I don't have to cut off the females like SHTF did.

I prob should have just got the 1'' buckles from Exo. At least the Rocklockster ones that EXO uses are easy to find online.

Anyone put the foliage Exo bags on a wolf grey kifaru frame? How do the colors match up? If they match ok I may just sell my Exo frame. If they don't match up I'll probably sell the entire package and get a new Exo bag in Coyote.

The picture of the 3500 in the beginning is my Kifaru UL (wolf grey) W/foilage Exo. I think it looks slick and totally works.
