Not really, it's still in testing.anyone have a link or something i can read on the k4x model?
I’ve been using a 6k cu in prototype for the last couple seasons that weighs 26 oz total for the bag & lid. Total weight with prototype K4x frame came in less than 4.5 lbs. It’s pretty stripped down and minimal, but absolutely gives up no load carrying ability at all.Supposed to around 2lb with bag and frame.
No one knows but a few testers.
Won’t be long and will hear something.
I’m going to sell my k4 to my buddy and pick one up if there 2lbs different total in a 5000 plus bag.
If only a lb I’ll keep my k4.

Yes and no. Same genre of ultralight sailcloth materials, but will be more durable.is it similar fabric like the stone glacier terminus?

This is purely speculative on my part of course; but the fabric in your photos looks a lot like UltraX of some sort, from Challenge. If so, I don't think that's the same fabric that's going to be used in K4x.Yes and no. Same genre of ultralight sailcloth materials, but will be more durable.
Good eye. It is Challenge Ultra in that prototype, but Steve is going with another fabric that he found to be better. I’ve yet to try one of those yet, but I expect to have one before heading to Kodiak in late July. @AntaresThis is purely speculative on my part of course; but the fabric in your photos looks a lot like UltraX of some sort, from Challenge. They're using different materials altogether to cut weight in general. In addition, all indications are that there will be ultralight bag options available at launch to cut more weight. I'm sure these will be simplified bags. Just getting rid of a lot of the zippers on a 5000 bag would save a handful of ounces. What makes the x stripped down versus the k4? Less pockets etc?
