Has anyone heard any negatives for the EXo K4X? Im getting a new pack this year. Currently have a Badlands MRK 3 (3300 cu in) with a 20 liter (1200 cu in) bag that I put between the pontoons to get enough room to pack in but its tight. I thought the k4x 5000 would get a little more room and save quite a bit of weight.

Supposed to around 2lb with bag and frame.
No one knows but a few testers.
Won’t be long and will hear something.
I’m going to sell my k4 to my buddy and pick one up if there 2lbs different total in a 5000 plus bag.
If only a lb ill keep my k4.

Anything that Exo puts out will be an upgrade over that pack.

I've got a k4 and came from a badlands like yours. I did 120 pound rear quarter on the k4 last year and It felt like less then a 50 pound load I did on my old pack. You'll be in for a treat either way

This is why I moved on from a first edition badlands 2200 and the kuiu pro icon pro I've been in since. I've been eyeing a k4 but the weight has held me off. Maybe the k4x is the fix.

It says on the pre-order page that Mark posted it’s a 1lb difference.

“These K4x prototype packs will be about 1lb lighter than existing K4 packs of the same size.”

Would like to see one top load no Zipper out of some waterproof material for a simple no nonsense pack for old people

Icon 6 3500 $983 2.31kg v k4 3500 2.495kg $675?
That is a rough 185g

25217.jpgI just asked google? They're not especially available here, and the other prices in the search are $us, but maybe kuiu sold off their site in $au.

I'm gonna have a K4 5000 full set up to sell in a bit over a month when I get my hands on a K4x, if anyone might be interested in a used option.

I imagine others will want to sell their k4 systems, but just remember that the K4 has a fairly long history of reliability and works great. In thorns, I've not seen a better material than heavy weight cordura. The seams hold up and I haven't seen many failures from wear and tear. The newer fabrics are new: not much information on reliability in the real world.

I plan to buy a K4x but I won't give up many of my tried and true older systems anytime soon.
