Exo k4 beginner

I was looking for some clothes and decided to visit the Kuiu store with my daughter. Since they had their pro packs and bags on, I had my daughter try one on (she is getting a pack this year).

1) Even with the salesman's help, she couldn't get comfortable in the Kuiu
2) All of the straps and buckles seemed smaller, lighter, and more fragile than my K4's.
3) The should harness and waste belt were narrower and has less padding.

When we got home, I had her try on my K4. But for her need for a much smaller waist belt (she is skinny, I am not), she could comfortably wear my pack.
I think EXO has a frame and belt set up for women and smaller stature folks.

I believe the normal K4 bag sizes will be offered, the 3600, 5000, and 7200 for the pre order run not sure about the 2027 production run tho
I do a lot of diy backpack hunts. I have the K4 7200 currently, but I am considering the 5000 when I upgrade to the K4X. I was thinking that if the 5000 isn’t big enough for a 7/8 day hunt, I would strap my food bag to the outside on the hike in….

For those who are familiar with the 5000 and 7200, which bag do you use/prefer and why?

I really wish they would do a 2200 with external pleats. It’s such a clutch setup. I know they do western hunting but it’s so good for an eastern whitetail hunting bag. It’s just the right size and the top pouch is great for small items. Moving a lid around to get extra space is too much movement for a climbing stand.

Dramatically prefer the 5000 because of the horseshoe zipper, the zipper layout on the 7200 is extremely poor.

Recently started scouting and training with a K4 after years of running Mystery Ranch. Still haven't done anything super heavy like meat hauling with the K4 but the improvement in weight distribution up to 60 pounds has been significant. The K4 does a much better job of transferring weight to the hip belt and keeping it off my shoulders. The weight feels like less of a burden. I have better use of my upper body. I don't feel as much relief from taking it off. The MR packs are durable and well made but the frame design of the K4 is so much better for my body.
Lots of options out there these days. Exo is one of the better ones.

I went from another top tier pack company to Exo and have zero regrets. If hunting is something a person is passionate about and plans to do for the foreseeable future, an Exo pack is one of the first things I would buy.
