I bought the K2 2000 with some belt pouches and the original Beaver Tail and like my set up. I also purchased some large Kiafru Side Pockets and a Guide Lid for when I need the extra volume. I can attach the extra pockets easily. I also have the Horn Hauler when needed. I have some pics of it set up. Let me know if you want me to pm you. You'll love the 2000.

I sent you the thread I had posted, but it didn't show the pics. Search "my K2 2000" in the backpack thread and you'll see it.

I'm going to bump this back up. For a pack that will be used mostly for dayhunting but can go 3-5 days backpacking occasionally, would u get a 2000 with a lid and use the load shelf or just get a 3500?

For me I went with 2000 I was in the same boat. Exo has a series of videos on YouTube called ''what's in my pack" you can get ALOT in a 2000.

I've owned both and I personally couldn't get 3-5 days out of the 2000 without using the load shelf, even with the lid. Everyone packs differently so it depends on what gear you have and need. If you don't mind using the load shelf for gear and you prefer the layout go for the 2000. The 3500 compresses down nearly as small in daypack mode and I have been able to get 5 days out of that without using the load shelf. I personally don't want to have the load shelf filled if I need it for meat but, again, everyone hunts differently. I was looking to get similar performance out of mine and originally went with the 3500. It worked well but I have since sold the 3500 and bought a 2000 and a 5500. It's a more versatile setup but obviously costs more. The good news is the Exo packs do hold value pretty well so you can always change out bags later.

Just got my 3500 in Ranger Green last week. Loaded it up about 45lb and took it for an overnight, and for me the size is perfect. I was looking for a pack I could use for day hunting, pack hunting, and backpacking, and this fits the bill perfectly. Nice thing is, it's super lightweight and compresses down paper-thin, but it can also expand to roughly 85L. Some say I pack a lot, I just like to be prepared. Any smaller and would be too small for anything more than an overnight. Any bigger and would be big to use as a daypack. My humble opinions. Just for added info, I picked up two hip pockets, three internal pockets, the crib, Slurpy Stalker, and rifle carrier. Can't wait til the 3500 dry bags come out. Really a nice pack, with lots of well thought out features that come standard. Add the bells and whistles if needed.

Hey Guys. I ordered mine on 3/30 and got it in 5/3. Regarding the lid on and off, either would totally work fine, but the lid adds good organization and weighs nothing. I'd post pics if I could figure it out. New to forums. I'll try to post some when I can.

Let me attempt to post this on my phone with poor lighting photos from my phone. If it doesn't work maybe I can load it tomorrow from a computer. These are photos of my 2000 and 5500 on a Kifaru frame. It should give you an idea of the difference in capacity as well as how small they compress though it would admittedly be better if they were to separate packs side by side. This first post shows the 2000 with and without the lid front and side views. The next post will be the 5500 in the same way.

As you can see, the 5500 also compresses down incredibly well so that should give you a decent idea of what the 3500 would look like.

I ordered my 5500 on 4/3 and will have it tomorrow. Took much longer than I thought.
